You are invited to join a nine-week study of the Samādhi Pādaḥ — the first chapter of Patañjali's Yoga Sūtras. We’ll discuss the chapter’s most essential teachings with special attention to how these things apply to our everyday lives. Each session opens with 15 minutes of chanting the sūtras in the Vedic tradition, followed by 75 minutes of guided inquiry and discussion of meaning, context, and application.

Learn to chant Chapter II of Patañjali's Yoga Sūtras in this 14-week course. Each week we'll review the sūtras from the previous week and then begin work on 4 new sūtras, progressing until we’ve learned all 55. This course emphasizes accurate pronunciation and consistent repetition. We focus purely on the sacred sounds—no discussion of meaning. You’re encouraged to practice 15 minutes daily to reinforce classroom learning. All classes are recorded and available on-demand through the course’s google drive folder.
This first round of learning will focus on these essential elements of chanting:
Varṇa – accurate pronunciation of letters
Svara – learn the notes or tones
Mātrā – chant with accurate duration of notes
